Information about Ontario

In the Canadian province of Ontario, there are essentially three time zones, or rather, the time is treated differently in three distinct regions.

• Eastern Standard Time EST (UTC−05:00) and Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (UTC−04:00) during the summer months in the eastern part of Ontario, east of the 90° meridian (except the Big Trout Lake area), and also west of the 90° meridian in the areas around Shebandowan and Upsala.
• Eastern Standard Time EST (UTC−05:00) year-round in the area around Atikokan and New Osnaburgh / Pickle Lake
• Central Standard Time CST (UTC−06:00) and Central Daylight Time (CDT) (UTC−05:00) during the summer months in the western part of Ontario, west of the 90° meridian (except for the areas around Atikokan, New Osnaburgh, and Pickle Lake, as well as the areas around Shebandowan and Upsala), and east of the 90° meridian in the area around Big Trout Lake.
